About The Designer
Ellen Himic has designed jewelry for more than a decade. Her artwork can be seen in galleries world-wide and has been published in numerous trade magazines and books. Ellen graduated with various awards from Tyler School of Art—esteemed for its world-renowned professors and emerging technologies.
Ellen’s childhood fascination with small-scale sculpture eventually led her to a career in jewelry design. Her intense study of mechanisms in plastic fostered her extraordinary engineering abilities; successfully creating ‘snap fit’ mechanisms with ease in the first prototype stage. As an artist, her desire to create radial repetition and mechanisms inspired her to utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and rapid prototyping to create jewelry.
Following her formal art education, Ellen spent several years of apprenticeship under an experienced jewelry craftsman. It was during this time that she learned to harness present-day technologies of the jewelry industry to bring her artistic creations to life .
Designer Ellen Himic’s experience in designing couture jewelry is seen in her current collections—each piece of jewelry being unique, sophisticated, and intelligently designed.
